THE ASCENSION OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST

We had a full church today which we kept as Ascension Day. Father Martin presided at the Solemn Concelebrated Mass and Father Mervyn preached, led the Intercessions and concelebrated.

In his sermon Father Mervyn reminded as that in the Acts of the Apostles, St. Luke tells us that a cloud took Jesus from the Apostles sight. He hasn’t disappeared but is with us until the end of time. We are required to be his witnesses bearing his Gospel to all the world. Like the Apostles who commenced their witness where they were, in Jerusalem, we must bear witness where we are in, and to, our local community.
